Video Series for Elementary and Secondary Lessons
As part of my school counselor internship, I have elected to create a video series to serve as an introductory lesson for students and school counselors. My love for filmmaking, Language Arts, and creative expression has lead to the products that you will find below. The students were introduced to the concepts via a whole group in class session. We conducted research to obtain facts and statistics on our area of focus. From here, each group of students analyzed the concepts, emotions, and occurrences that fall under the umbrella of each topic (subtopic analysis), identified and broke apart song lyrics/stanzas to develop "lyrical connection" ideas for storytelling elements, and finally took part in the production process to create a "concept ice breaker video" for guidance lessons (Pre-Production, Production, and Post Production Processes). In addition to these videos the students have been working on creating consumable campaign items for each topic (brochures, flyers, animations, PowerPoints, and "Think Sheets" (question generators). I will be uploading the student work as well as the lesson plans and guides as the weeks progress. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions regarding these projects. Upcoming topics that are currently in the editing process include stereotypes, addiction, self-harm, discrimination and tolerance, self-awareness, and unhealthy relationships.

CTE High School Anti-Bullying Project

As part of building a comprehensive program at the elementary school level, students in grades K-6 took part in creating a campaign that promoted anti-bullying. Upper elementary school students in grades 5 and 6 developed slogans, printable materials, created music videos and commercials, and hosted sessions for their younger peers, teachers, administrators, staff and parents. A website was developed in an effort to document their work and serve as an outreach initiative to mentor students at other elementary schools. The founders of this project proudly presented their project endeavors within their feeder pattern, at the Ysleta ISD Parental Engagement Conference, UTEP Leadership Conference, Mother-Daughter/Father- Son Conference, and the Teachers Networking Technology Conference.
