CIP, TAPR, and Analysis
Based on the CIP and the TAPR for my internship campus my observation is that the programming and initiatives that were being offered to the students were efficient, aligned, and created opportunities for the students to retain their status as a high academic achievement campus. The initiatives for each of the respective levels (elementary, middle and high school) do prove to be vertically aligned in an effort to prepare students to increase their academic rigor and create a foundation towards college and career readiness. I had the privilege to work with my mentor on student audits, the creation of action plans, participate in pre-registration processes for incoming and exiting students at the middle school level, and lessons/presentations that targeted academic and social/emotional success. This year's preliminary test results have outlined high student achievement as well. The initiatives and targets that are in place at this campus are continuing to drive the success of their students as their best interests remain at heart.
Curriculum Results: In reviewing the CIP and TAPR information it is clear that the programming for enduring academic success for all students is present. Ranchland Hills Middle School of Ysleta ISD was recognized for receiving all seven distinctions. In the areas of Reading/English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies the students exceeded the campus and district comparison groups. The intention programming methodologies employed by the campus have provided their students an advantage in not only meeting the set expectations, but exceeding and further preparing them for postsecondary readiness (as is evidenced by the distinctions in Top 25 Percent Student Progress, Top 25 Percent Closing Performance Gaps, and Postsecondary Readiness).
Small Group Results: Interventions, extended programming, Saturday sessions, and alignment have allowed the campus to work with students on targeted interventions. This purposeful strategy permits the leadership team, instructional support personnel, and faculty and staff to develop program initiatives that better meet the needs of their students while helping to support and prepare the whole child for their progressive school years.
Closing-The-Gap Results: Students were provided a variety of interventions that addressed their academic and social/emotional needs. The alignment of the feeder pattern has provided significant opportunities for their students in the areas that are necessary for continued student success.
